The $PAC team is happy to announce that we have secured a deal with both Namco and Atari Incorporated to secure the rights to the long standing PAC-MAN brand and all associated copyrights. The acquisition was part of a month-long multi-billion dollar buyout enabling the $PAC payment network to finally differentiate itself from the world famous video game.
$PAC CMO, Brad Marsh quoted: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to finally be able to secure the brand rights to one of the most popular video game franchises in history. It cost us quite a lot, most of the founders and developers had to take out second mortgages on our homes in order to pool together enough funds to make Masaya Nakamura (Founder of Namco) a compelling offer. Our plans for the existing PAC-MAN brand are to rename the game and all accompanying brand elements to TAC-MAN, so that our global community and newcomers to the $PAC payment brand no longer confuse us for a yellow man who has an appetite for golden orbs…”
PAC-MAN is one of the highest grossing video games of all time, having generated more than $2.5 billion in revenue by the early 1990’s. Adjusted for inflation all versions of the PAC-MAN game are estimated to have grossed over $12 billion to the present day.
APRIL FOOLS EVERYONE!
If you haven’t already realized, this is obviously not true. $PAC has NOT acquired the copyrights to PAC-MAN and has no intention to, ever. However, if you would like to play the thoroughly enjoyable $PAC Arcade mobile game, developed by some incredibly talented community devs, as homage to the original game please feel free to do so.
